A site local to us has a few people permanently living on it, it doesn't belong to either "club", we've noticed that these vans move pitches regularly so I presume this is their way of getting round the law?

They are kept tidy and pay their pitch fee so I don't see it as a problem.

It totally depends on what the planning conditions say. My friends have a site and there is no restriction on the length of stay. They have two people living there at the moment.

Tell your inlaws to ring the local council and ask what the conditions are for the site.

Thanks for help my in laws asked me to ask on here as they are worried a chap is going to report the site becouse he has been asked to leave for making to much notice and has told the owners he is reporting them to council my inlaws are worried sick they are going to be thrown off the site at very short notice

What they need to do is to talk to the warden and then tow the van off the site for 24 hours ( there will be a CL or something nearby to spend a night on ) then they go back to the site they are on and spend another 28 days there. The other alternative is to arrange a seasonal pitch with the wardens ( if it is possible ) in which case they will only have to leave for two separate 24 hour periods in the whole year.
