Somewhat related to this post - I have just bought a gas BBQ from Homebase at seemingly silly knock-down price (standby for horror stories from previous buyers) although I knew it comes with a regulator for use with BP cylinders that Homebase sell. I need to connect to my spare Calor lite 6kg and use it standalone. Will a basic Calor-compatible propane regulator (£5-6) do that job?

Why do Calor stipulate their Patio Gas range for use with their own BBQs? Their 'help' web pages are poor and only describe how to screw and unscrew fittings - nothing on what fits what!

Yup the red propane regulator is fine. We use it with gas hose and a Cadac connector on our spare Calor Lite gas bottle for the Cadac. Means you can move the Cadac about and are not restricted to the outside bbq point. Good for avoiding wind etc.

Mobile Cadac

hello we got a great BBQ in asda for £30 its just the right size for caravaning, and easy on gas! cheap and cheerful, just today saw a simalier one in homebase on sale at £22... hard to beat!
Now reduced to £15. Can't go wrong for a two burner BBQ. 4 disposables would cost that much.
