Caravan Club CL
Preliminary, Riverside was born as a Caravan Club Certificated Location (CL), and part of it is still maintained as one. Our one acre lawned CL is just out of the Hamlet of Millhouse, adjacent a quiet unclassified road, being secluded and well away from noise of main roads.The dominating River Caldew and its tributary Beck,(Gillcamon) which actually join on the site, and are completely open and accesible to site users, form over half of the perimeter. All the 11 well-spaced pitches (6 Hardstandings and 5 Grass) have electric hookups.
Millrace Park
("AVAILABLE TO NON-MEMBERS as well as MEMBERS") Due to the ever increasing popularity of the CL, we obtained planning permission in 2003 to provide extra pitches. Unwilling to alter the CL in any way which may endanger its character, we have developed
our adjoining land to almost mirror image of the existing with 11 pitches (9 Hard-Standings & 2 Grass) all with Electric hookups, with seperate WC and FREE shower. Again, we have opened up the stretch of river bordering this land to provide access to site users. WE have created a river edge picnic area, and installed feeders for the now rare native RED Squirrels.

We can offer an ideal Safe-Haven destination for that well deserved Winter Break.
Nearby Attractions
The nearest Lakeland Fells, (Carrock, High Pike,
Skiddaw and Saddleback) are only 5 minutes up the road, which are popular with walkers who prefer the quietness and discovering un-trodden territory, with no problems parking your car, unlike the mid and south fells of the Lake District which are becoming crowded. There are also foot paths leading from adjacent the site entrance, and from the Hamlet.
Directions
(1) Leave M6 at Junction 41 onto B5305 (signposted Wigton).
(2) In 7 miles turn left at sign post Hesket-New-Market/Caldbeck.

(3) In 2 miles (in village of Millhouse) turn left at Village Hall,and nearby telephone box.(Riverside sandwich board just before village)
(4) Site on right in 250 yards.
The Caravan Club CL is the area immediatly through the Main Entrance.
The Millrace Park is through the CL area, through the 2nd (open) gate.
