This was our first visit to the Lakes. The site is quite large but doesn't feel it as it is spread out into smaller areas. The staff were very friendly & helpful throughout the week. The pitch was a good size. Showerblocks were very clean, plenty of hot water etc. Excellent dog walk from the site. Short drive from Windermere & excellent 'Outdoor' shop just up the road. Would definitely go back.

We ended up at this site after a mix up at another site, so it was at short notice that we got in. All the staff on the site were very helpful. It was our maiden voyage in a caravan so there were several snags but these were sorted out with the help of the staff.
We’ve stayed here before and the site is very good. The toilet / showers are very clean and well maintained. The onsite pub is good and has improved its menu.
There are plenty of places to go for a walk and Windermere is a short drive or a longer walk away.
Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend.

We stayed on this site for 2 nights and on arrival were impressed with the site itself and the cleanliness of the facilities. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the on site bar and restaurant are handy, although not very big.
The only down side with this site was the fact that it is a little in the middle of nowhere, with the nearest village being a 3 mile hike up and down hill - so not recommended for children or pushchairs.
Windermere is a little further than implied on the literature about the site and without a car this can be problematic as local transport can be hit and miss.
Overall the site is very good, but not ideal if you want close by amenities and are reliant on foot or bikes, so as not to unhook your motorhome.

We visited this site with our touring caravan late last year. We have previously visited this site on several occassions with our tent.
The site has excellent facilities, including a small pub, shop, and games area where you can also order food to eat in or take away.
The food prices are reasonable and the menu is quite nice. Came in very handy when we visited with the tent when I was pregnant and feeling quite fussy about food and was craving for a pizza (not easy to cook on a BBQ).
We have stayed on two tenting areas. One opposite where the wardens stay, and the other was to the rear of the site. Both were lovely.
When we came with the caravan recently we found the staff really helpful in helping you pitch and cycling round keeping an eye out.
There is a strict 'No Noise' policy (like other C&C club sites) which came in handy for us with the children as you really don't want to be kept awake late at night.
We love this site. It is ideally situated in location, has great views, and very helpful friendly staff.
We can't wait for it to open for the season again this year so we can visit again.

Great site. We booked to go for halloween weekend with two other families. We had a Great pitch with electric hook up and plenty of space. The toilet and shower block were clean.
We didn't use the washing up and laundry room although I was led to beleive these where very adequate.
The shop was very small but provided the basics but there is a local supermarket at either windermere or kendal. (although I sent my husband and didn't see him again for over 1 hour and half!)
The site has a restaurant which we ate at on the Friday, the meals where nice and the childrens portions where very generous. Attached is a pub. My only critism is that they only take cash or cheque. There is no card facilities at the restaurant. (although I am led to believe that from next year they will accept card.)
We really enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic site. We booked it on the last minute & we were not disappointed. We had a lovely pitch with electric hook up& had plenty of space on our pitch even with a large tent. The toilet & shower block were spotless (like being at home) as were the washing up & laundry room. There is a small play area for the children & plenty of room to make friends &play. There is a very small shop with basics & an ice pack service (40p per pack). There is a Booths at Windermere. They have a small pub which closes at 10.30pm & a family room for evening meals which are fantastic. Shame we only ate in there on our last night. The site is kept beautifully & all the staff are helpful & very friendly. There is coarse fishing available almost next door to the site & you can buy day passes from the b.P garage.
You are about 10 minutes drive from Windermere & Bowness with all the tourist attractions. If you are looking for entertainment or late noisy nights then this is not the site for you. Only the owls to be heard after 9.30pm. Bliss. Will definitely be returning
