Planned to only spend 2 nights at this site and then move closer to the lakes, but chose to extend a further 2 nights because it was so good. Liked the friendly chickens that wandered around the caravan.

We have stayed here several times and the level of service remains at the same high standard.

All the staff were friendly and very helpful. All areas were litter free and the showers and toilets were spotlessly clean. The first time we stayed the bar / restaurant had just been built but it still looks brand new.

Stayed on the new super pitch area this time, the road was being laid it was that new. You don’t have a view of the stunning Morecombe Bay in this area, as in some pitches, but there is still a great view of the peaks in the Lake District that is just as good.

Like people have said in the past the signage from the new arrivals area to the reception could be improved, the staff said this is to be done soon I’ll have to see the next time I use the site.

The bar / restaurant weren’t open every day we were there however Carnforth is only a short 15 minute walk away down the peaceful canal. The food and level of service in the restaurant could not be faulted when we did eat there.

The site is a short drive to the well known Morecombe, Lancaster and Kendal.

Will definitely be using this site again

We have just returned from a week at Bay View and thoroughly enjoyed the site and the surrounding area. On arrival at Bay View we walked down to the reception area, booked in and we were escorted on the Wardens golf buggy to our pitch.

The warden guided us into the pitch and was very helpful pointing out were everything was. We were on a super pitch with our own electricity, water and grey waste drain. This was all new to us but we found it very handy.

The toilet and shower blocks were very clean but hard work if showering young children. We ended up showering our 2 year old in the caravan because we struggled in the showers.

Washing machines and tumble driers are on site at an additional charge which we found very useful with two small children

The shop on site had all the essentials stocked and Tesco’s is a 5 minute drive away which was really useful.

We ate in the on site restaurant on one evening, the menu was only small but the food was lovely and the staff very friendly.

We went for a walk down the canal opposite the site, fed the ducks, walked to the Royal Hotel and had a lovely evening meal in there and the children enjoyed playing on the outdoor play area.

We had a few lovely days out with the children at Greenlands Farm Village, crab fishing and sandcastle building on Morecambe front and a day running through the aqua park in Happy Mount Park on the one gloriously sunny day we had.

The play area on site was a bit of a walk from the caravan area but once we got to it the children enjoyed it.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return to Bay View in the future.

Stayed for 3 nights at Bay View over the bank holiday with my husband and our two sons (aged 1 year and 3 years). Upon arrival we were greeted by a warden and asked to park in the New Arrivals bay to wait for another warden to show us to our pitch. Between 5 - 10 minutes the warden came in his golf buggy and guided us to our pitch.

The hard standing pitches are to be reversed into only to keep cars off the grass. After guiding us into the pitch, the warden pointed out the toilet/shower blocks, bar, shop/reception and restaurant. We were also informed that the barrier closed at 11pm.

The site was busy but there was still ample room between the units and the majority of campers were friendly. I say majority as my husband was very rudely disturbed by a man banging on his shower door and shouting ‘Hurry up!’ whilst he was taking his shower and attempting to shower our 1 year old.

Unfortunately, there are no facilities for changing babies/infants – it was disappointing not to find a single changing table. With this in mind I think it is unfair to charge a nightly fee for any child over 2 years old as in my experience children of this age still need nappy changing facilities of which there are none. In my opinion a fairer age for charging would be 3 years.

There are three toilet/shower blocks, two separate dish washing areas - one of which is indoors and is locked at 10pm and a launderette which is also locked at 10pm. The bar/restaurant, shop and games room all look relatively new and kept very well. My 3 year old loved spending his tuppence's on the penny machines. We ate breakfast in the restaurant once which was very enjoyable and not over priced.

All in all we had a lovely weekend albeit a very windy one (we were assured that this wasn’t typical of the site) and will most probably return to Bay View in the future.

Just returned from a night at Bay View, we had booked here for one night for my birthday and chose the site as it appeared to be ideally located, having its own restaurant and bar and being close to the village for a choice of other pubs and restaurants, as well as having views of the sea.

So we were slightly disappointed when we arrived and were guided to our pitch, on the new hardstanding area, to find that there was no view of the sea or of anything really apart from the statics and other caravans!

We were also advised that the bar and restaurant was closed (it was a Tuesday) and the walk to the village was just less than 1 mile (something we did not look forward to in the gale force winds that we were experiencing at the time!)

However we did walk to the village and spent the afternoon in the Royal Hotel which was a really nice pub with good food and good choice of ales. We then trekked back to our van and settled down for a birthday drink, needless to say later on we were starving and I had only brought provisions for breakfast the next morning so we googled for local takeaways and rang quite a few but were told that they did not deliver, but then we rang Sizzle Inn which was happy to deliver and did so within half an hour, the food was reasonably priced and I have to say I had the best doner kebab I have had for ages! My husband had a pizza which he really enjoyed too.

The site itself was really nice despite the lack of views and like other people have said you do have to park up and then walk quite a way to the reception but we were met there by staff and he even took us back up to our van in a golf buggy and then guided us to our pitch and showed us where everything was, a service that you don't get on most sites! The toilet blocks appeared to be brand new and were immaculate and warm and had everything you needed. The pitch itself had electric hookup, aerial hookup, water and waste water drain, it was level and spacious.

The site was really quiet when we were there but I think even when it is busy there will still be plenty of room as the pitches are generous.

The main thing the site could do to improve the whole experience would be to provide easy access to the beach area (even though it is more like sandy salt marshes) as there was a field that we were about to walk through that looked as though it took you straight there but we then noticed a sign that warned you could not enter at any time! Not sure why?

We would return but only at a time when the restaurant/bar is open as we like to be nearer to amenities as when we are away we like to just chill.

Just returned back & agree with ToneisOK. Top field does look too steep to camp on. The signs do need replacing as its really not clear where things are.

But it's in a great location. The new flat field is great. Staff friendly. Just produce a slightly clearer map showing walks, especially how to get out onto the canal.

We had a great time, even though the weather was changeable.

The warden arrived quickly when we reported that a tree branch had snapped of a tree & was overhanging our tent. We did though sit & marvel when on arriving with a single ladder about 6ft too short, he stood the ladder up vertically, while his mate held it while he climbed up it.

As others have said its a little tight as you enter the site, its also a little confusing as your directed to a 'new arrivals' parking area but there is no signs directing you where to go to reception, we finally found it by wandering around, its quite a walk but once there the staff were very nice.

Stayed on the new field with the large pitches, the slate hard standing is not ideal but its better than just grass, I don't think I would like to stay on the upper fields as its very steep and the vans on there looked precarious.

Lots and lots of statics, all very well kempt. The pub is ok but lacked any atmosphere even though the staff were friendly.

Showers/toilets are immaculate but very busy, worth the small wait.

Two supermarkets within walking distance and only a stones throw from lots of lovely old seaside towns, we really took to Grange over sands.

We would probably return.
