Just got back from a brilliant 2 night stay over the May Day Bank Holiday. Lovely site, really easy to get to. Friendly wardens, booked us in and then showed us to our pitch, gave us loads of information about the site and the area, very helpful.
Showers and toilets were very clean. The site was pretty much full but didn't seem overcrowded.
Little boot / cycle / dog wash area which was great. There is a small shop with all the essentials and a bar / restaurant, we didn't actually get to try it out!
Ten minute drive to Windermere. Few miles from Staveley, we had dinner from the chippy there last night, it wasn't the best we have ever had!
Popped in at the Watermill on the way back from Windermere, lovely pub, good ales, we didn't try the food. They welcome dogs into part of the pub which was great.
All in all a lovely weekend and we hope to return in the summer.

Great site, easy location off M6 then A591. Pitches flat with either hard-standing or grass. Good showers, never had to queue (but then again I get up early)
Friendly wardens take you to your pitch and help you onto site. If required a small tractor will help pull on/off. Dog walk in vicinity, few miles walk to Stavely.
Short drive to Windermere. Site is busy at bank hols. Lots of children on bicycles. Get there earlier enough and try and get a pitch on The Mound. Not too many kids there!

We made a last minute booking here on our way back from Scotland.
Very friendly reception with well stocked shop. You pay a premium for having a restaurant and pub on site (which we are not bothered about when we go camping). We are C&CC members and at Easter for 4 in a Motorhome, it cost us just under £35 a night-for this price, I'd expect a heated swimming pool!
The site was obviously well kept and toilet and shower facilities were excellent.
We had a lovely walk across fields to Stavely, the station being about a mile and a half away, with trains to main line stations. Stavely has a pub, spar shop and fish and chip shop. There were pheasants wandering around the site and it was lovely watching people enjoying themselves after spending the previous night at a caravan club site.

We came here when our holiday abroad was cancelled due to ash cloud. Lovely site, near to lake Windermere by car 5 to 10 minute drive. Windermere has lots to see and do, boat trips, Beatrix Potter, and shopping. Clean site with great facilities, dog bath, pub/restaurant, with very nice food and reasonably priced. Lots of walks nearby. Toilets and showers clean and well kept. Would definitely go again, one of the best sites we have visited. Cannot wait to visit here again hopefully this year sometime.

Lovely site, quite easy to find and the showers were clean (if a little cramped in the normal cubicle) and warm. The kids play area was good but could be fantastic if more effort were made.
The shop was quite well stocked and the staff friendly.
On the down side the pitches were a little small. We paid to put our awning up but didn't get a larger pitch and ended up with very little space to park our car. If we didn't have an awning we would have more room for less money.
The pub was very nice, however we were not allowed to use it as we had children with us and we had to sit in the recreation room to eat. We have been in pubs up and down Britain and have never been sent out because we have our children with us.
As a consequence the bar remained empty and the recreation room was packed with families.
The food served in there was very nice if a touch on the pricey side but be warned, they don't take debit cards, it is cash or cheque only! There is a good pub just down the road towards Windemere that does take debit cards.

Really nice camp site not far from the Lakes. We stayed here en route to the Lakes and its a lovely site. It has a small shop which stocks basic items and the couple who run the site seem very friendly.
We are not members of the club but were able to stay here and pay a fee as non members. There are a large amount of pitches but over a few different areas and there is enough space between pitches for privacy and the pitches are on hand standings.
The facilities here are very good and well maintained. The washing up area is very good and the sinks are large allowing you to do a lot of washing up. Toilets and showers are heated and very good and have a coded door for entry.
The site seemed very family friendly and is in a lovely location. Not sure I would fancy taking a a caravan down the access road as it is narrow and had various pot holes but in our campervan it was fine. Caravans had gone down this road, so its just my opinion!
Really would recommend this site and would re visit when we are in the area again.
