A real gem of a site! Adult only (which we like!) We stayed over the Jubilee bank holiday. The owners are very pleasant - come to meet you at the gate and give you a pack with list of local walks and places to visit.
Really well laid out pitches and quite big enough for our small fifth wheel. Need own facilities but for £10 per night we thought it was brilliant.
The pub is within walking distance and has some great real ales and lovely reasonably priced food. Will definitely be going back soon.

Stayed here one night on our way from Derbyshire to the lakes. A small Cl with 5 hard standings (Adult only) at the side of the nursery
Very friendly welcome. Pretty pitches which will be very private once all the trees have grown. Well laid out with EHU
No toilets, showers or wash up area, but good water point, waste disposal and chemical toilet disposal. Did not see motor home disposal but we only use a bucket when on an overnight stay.
Site secure and a key issued for the padlock on arrival.
The site is new and is well planted out with trees shrubs and plants.
There is a pub about a mile away and a great farm shop that sells all you need about half a mile. No papers though, my OH has to have these daily so would cause us a problem if we had a longer stay.
Did not notice a bus route. We will stay again for a stop over to the lakes or Scotland.

We fully endorse all the previous positive comments and although we stayed for only one night on this occasion we fully intend to return for longer.
We received a warm, friendly welcome (and farewell), the site was immaculately kept and the map and information we were given on the surrounding area were extremely useful.
Although less than 10 minutes from the motorway the location is totally rural and extremely peaceful.
This was our first C. L. Experience and we took the plunge after reading the reviews on here

Booked in for one night before caravan went back to factory in Wigan for service. Called ahead to let them know estimated time of arrival and as soon as we pulled in were met at gate.
Friendly welcome, all facilities pointed out and provided with info on local and wider area with a map showing local pubs, stables, farm shops, church etc. Which was a nice touch.
Good sized hard standings with grass between, there will be hedges when the plants grow! Pitches back onto field and face the nursery garden, all have EHU. Picked one away from lane but there was little traffic.
A good quality CL. Very peaceful overnight stop and would have liked to have stayed longer. Recommended.

What a gem of a site! This is quite a new CL but extremely well thought-out. Each of the pitches overlook the nursery to the front and fields to the rear.We were met by the friendly owner who gave us a key for the gates. The site is very secure. The plots are quite well spaced and the facilities for waste disposal and recycling are excellent. The owner has already planted shrubs between each of the plots and once these are established will give greater privacy. Within a 20mins walk, there is an hourly bus service to Wigan and Preston and the local pub as mentioned in the other review. There is a decent farm shop within 15mins walk as well. Even though it was early Feb, there was only 1 plot available on the Saturday night. We have family nearby and this site is really convenient for visiting them. However, there are several other local sites but we won't be staying elsewhere! The only reason that we have not given the facilities 10 out of 10 is that there is no waste disposal point for a motorhome. We've already booked a return visit for May when we hope to bring some plants back with us as the nursery should also be open by then. Will definitely recommend to others!

We visited this new CL for the first time at the end of October.
The site has 2 gates at the entrance, 1 always padlocked for safety. The owner leaves you with a key on arrival.
This is a lovely tidy site with good sized hardstanding pitches in an open environment.
There is the usual water, waste and elsan points and separate recycling boxes.
The pitches overlook the plant nursery, which was closed for end of season whilst we were there, but would be lovely in summer.
The perimeter is fenced and has hedges and/or trees and has a lovely country feel.
The local pub, The White Lion, is a pleasant 20 minute walk away(we needed torches for the return journey!). The pub is in the good beer guide and has 8 cask ales and really tasty food.
They have an early bird menu upto 18:30 with 2 courses for £8.50. A bar menu and converted cottages for the restaurant.
We spent a day out in Southport and the surrounding countryside is lovely. There are also coarse fisheries nearby.
We would highly recommend, it is open all year and we will certainly be returning.
