Visited in May for the first time and had a great time. Facilities nice & clean and good showers. Children had a great time in the large open space in the centre of the field. Good sized pitches.
We booked online and never saw the owners, seems everyone was just left to do things properly, which they did. Quite a lot of thought has gone into the site. Very peaceful.
A bit stuck out on a limb, but you cant have everything. We walked from the site on bridleways to Roadford, some lovely countryside.
Visited the Cloveley Inn, had high expectations following reviews, but whilst atmosphere, service and beer was really good, the food was disappointing. I would go again, but just have scampi & chips or similar. We parked in the village hall car park and the children played in the park for a short while before we left.
Pitches on the west side of the site are slightly sloping so you will need decent levelling blocks.
Overall a really nice site with a nice feel to it. Children (8 & 10) loved it. Clean site + happy children - perfect!

My wife and I visited this site during August and after getting over the initial shock of the very long farm track to the site we were very pleased.
The site itself is well maintained with spacious pitches only surpassed by one other site we know of which in fairness will remain anonymous.
We normally choose adults only sites as our lives mostly generate around children and it is nice to have a break! However, if your kids just want room to let off steam without being a 'nuisance' to others, then this is your site due to the large central field and separate play field.
The toilet block is lovely and very clean all day, with powerful (almost sadistic) hot showers.
There is an equally clean washing up area as part of the block but getting water that is hot enough to wash up in is problematic most times of the day. (perhaps it is diverted to the showers!)
There is a small site shop with essentials which is opened for an hour or so mornings and evenings.
There are 3 supermarkets in Okehampton (Waitrose, Co-op and Lidl) all off the same town centre roundabout and a Tesco in Launceston just off the A30.
Roadford Lake is 10 minutes drive away and has a lovely visitor centre and cafe' serving snacks and hot food, sunsets over the lake are amazing! Beth Cottles pub / restaurant just outside Okehampton do a very good value Sunday carvery but gets busy!
Loads of places to visit in the area, including National Trust properties.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this site and will return very soon.

South Breazle is indeed a quiet, out the way site.
I loved the ease of the online booking system which allowed us the choose our pitch from a site plan on the website so we knew exactly where we would be pitching for the night. This meant we were able to enjoy a full day out without the pressure of having to get to the site by a certain time. It does require you to pay for your pitch up front rather than on arrival but this was not a problem for us and I've never understood why more sites don't operate this way?! It must be really efficient for the site owners too as they do not need to man the reception area for long periods unlike other sites I have experienced.
I also loved that the pitches were given names (Badgers Den etc) rather than numbers, the solar powered lighting around the site was helpful as was the fact that each pitch had it's own water and EHU supply.
I would reiterate other reviewers' comments about the Clovelly Inn - just what you want from a village pub. Having arrived from Padstow, it was nice to be charged a reasonable rather than exhorbatent price for decent, plentiful food!
No fault of the site itself but something to be aware of. The night we arrived the area had suffered heavy rain and our pre booked pitch was like a bog. There is an element of hardstanding (shale chippings) on each pitch with some having more hard area than others but ours (Badgers Den) was not big enough for us to park our camper and reach the EHU which was on the pitch edge. We therefore had to park on the grass and keep everything crossed that we would not have sunken deeper in the quagmire by the morning. Luckily we had no more rain that night and so were able to gingerly ease the camper out the following morning.
Again, I have to agree with other reviewers that the facilities here were fantastic ! - not only a privacy area outside the shower to change in but each with it's own chair - such luxury! The showers were large, hot and powerful and the floor to ceiling ceramic tiling in the block made it feel clean and modern. And the ladies had a free hairdryer! Is this what they call glamping?

We have our van in storage here, all we do is call up and the van is put on a pitch the day we are to arrive all that's then required is to put the legs down and connect up
You can also request the van is washed
Site is really quiet, toilets and showers spotless, just take your time driving along the track to and from the site.
Easy travelling to all locations in Devon and Cornwall
Clovelly Inn is the place to go for meals, no TV and no Internet and it all depends on your phone network if it works or not when in there, extensive menu
Meals are huge and cheap so if your on a diet forget it lol, would advise booking but meals served from 12. 30 to 2. 30 PM then from 6PM 9:30 pm.
The owners and staff of the site and pub cannot do enough for you, a real pleasure

Quiet site with an open feel and lovely views. Large pitches, mixed grass, part hardstanding and full hardstanding cater for all requirements.
The toilet block was one of the best I have seen in the UK. Large tiled showers with proper doors, lovely hot water and plenty of room to dry and dress with a proper seat.
Toilets in the ladies were roomy, each with their own basin. I understand the mens were equally as good.
It was a little off the beaten track but once back on the A30 most of Cornwall and Devon were easily accessible.
All in all a very good site with a brilliant on-line booking system.
The nearby Clovelly Inn at Bratton Clovelly serves the most amazing value for money food but you will need to book in the high season.
Think carefully before you order dessert - it could be a challenge too far!

This was our first camping experience and we found the site to be very good. We deliberately choose a smaller site and we were very happy with what we got.
The showers and toilets were very clean and the water very hot! We have younger children (3 and 5) and they loved the freedom of running around on the big field. They also loved the water fountain.
Pitches are a very good size and it was very nice to have electric, water and free internet connection.
Their website is also very good, allowing you to pick your pitch and pay online very easily.
The site is very quiet and a little remote, but all in all, we would recommend it highly.
