A lovely site with excellent new (unheated) toilet/shower block - just take a mat if temperatures are sub zero like we had - Shower lovely & hot! Small and very quiet with easy access to main roads to visit Exeter & other parts of Devon. Mixture of grass & hardstanding plus tent area. Hookups available. Very narrow lane for last mile so do observe rules about times to arrive to avoid meeting a caravan leaving! Nearest village with shop/pub about a mile on narrow unlit lane so transport is handy. Very friendly staff. Very small children's play area but with the focus on fishing and expanses of open water it wouldn't be ideal for young children.

This is a beautiful tranquil site. We spent 5 nights here in our folding camper and our 8 month old daughter. We got the best welcome from Andrea on reception that made us a cup of tea as we arrived!
I would strongly recommend not following a sat nav as it will send you up very narrow lanes and you will get lost! aim for Dawlish on your sat nav and go to Exminster from the A379 and follow the brown signs to the fishery.
Facilities: there is a little swing set which my daughter loved as well as a slide and treehouse! there is one shower for the site but never busy - its a nice shower cubicle with a toilet and sink so much like a bathroom. There are handy toilets on the campsite.
Our pitch was on a raised parch of grass - one of the staff pulled our trailer onto it with a 4x4 - all the staff are friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be returning! and at £15 a night in high season its an absolute bargain!

Visited during the hottest week this year the site is very tranquil and you do feel like your miles away from civilisation which is certainly not the case.
My husband loved the fishing and was catching various 10lb fish some slightly bigger. A 5 minute drive takes you down the shops, hairdressers, pubs etc.
We drove to the swans nest an had a lovely meal. My only downside was the walk to and from the shower, felt the showers should have been on the campsite

Found this site easily down some very narrow Devon Lanes. Very well maintained site a little muddy but considering the amount of rain that had been in the area prior to our weekend.
So we had a choice of pitches to make camp on. The owner is friendly and was on site to help and was waiting for us on our arrival.
I didn't have a chance to do any fishing but sure will next time we come down here. The lakes look welcoming.

I stayed at the Luccombes site for quite a few weeks over the wettest summer on record!
I was originally on a grass pitch but as the weather got worse, the owners very kindly moved me to one of the dry standings. The site is tranquil, beautiful and quiet, it feels like it is in the middle of nowhere despite being 5 minutes from Exminster.
The facilities are clean and well maintained. The owner, Richard and his team are delightful, always keen to help and made me feel very safe and reassured whilst often staying on the site on my own, returning late at night.
On occasion children stayed on the site but it remained peaceful, the pitches are spread out and at no point during my stay was I disturbed by noise, apart from the sheep being moved field!
Locally, Exminster is a lovely village with a Tesco and a fantastic deli - and the chip van visits on a Tuesday evening! There are a few pubs in Exminster although we didn't visit. The Ley Arms has recently reopened in Kennford and does amazing food. The new landlord is very welcoming and allowed our puppy in - ignore the reviews on line about the rude staff, this was the previous owner. Exeter is a 15 minute drive, and the pubs on the estuary, including the Turf Locks and the Double Locks are easily accessible.
All in all, despite the crazy weather, I had a very relaxing and delightful stay and would fully recommend this site to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of the world.

What a warm welcome we received, everything was well explained and we had the pick of the pitches.
Nothing was too much trouble and every question we had was answered. It’s a very quite site, nice peaceful and relaxing.
The camp site is separate from the lakes and a short walk takes you to the shower. There are toilets in the camping/caravan field that are on sensors for night time visits.
Although there is a couple of swings and a tree house, I think children may get bored.
A short car ride to Exminster for free on street parking for the busses either to Exeter or to Teignmouth with the cheap “day ranger ticket” and in the village there is a well stocked Tesco Express.
The coast and local attractions are within a few minutes’ drive of the fisheries.
If you are into your fishing, then this site is for you are the fishing is included in your fees. We watched the fisherman bring out all sizes of fish from tiddlers to 25lb ones!
We will be going back there again.
